From an advanced field hospital and round-the-clock search-and-rescue operations to the mobilization of more than $30 million in heavy equipment, B|G|O worked with international partners to bring critical resources and expertise to Haiti when they were needed most.
Within 48 hours of the earthquake, an Israeli task force of more than 210 medical, rescue and support personnel was mobilized to Haiti.
The Israel Defense Forces established one of the most advanced field hospitals operating in the country. Set up in approximately eight hours, it was capable of treating up to 500 patients each day, providing emergency care, critical surgeries and maternity services. Israeli teams also conducted round-the-clock search-and-rescue missions throughout affected areas.
B|G|O played a key role in coordinating that deployment, working alongside Israeli authorities to facilitate the delivery of critical assistance.
As the response shifted from rescue to recovery, the company partnered with AshBritt to establish Haiti Recovery Group (HRG), combining local operational capabilities with international disaster-recovery expertise.
HRG mobilized more than $30 million in company-owned heavy equipment in Haiti for debris transport and processing, alongside capabilities in environmental services, material salvage and logistical support.
The scale of these efforts reflected the magnitude of the 7.0-magnitude earthquake, which left an estimated three million people in need of emergency assistance, more than one million homeless, and hundreds of thousands of buildings damaged or destroyed.
From lifesaving assistance to the resources needed for reconstruction, B|G|O stood alongside Haiti and its international partners at a defining moment for the country.
2026 Perspective
More than sixteen years later, this response remains an example of the values that have guided B|G|O for more than 130 years. Being deeply rooted in Haiti comes with a sense of responsibility: to remain present, to mobilize resources and partnerships when they are needed most, and to contribute to the country the company has grown alongside for generations.
