Haitian identity took center stage in London, creating a space for connection, pride, and visibility throughout Carnival weekend.

From August 29 to 31, Notting Hill Carnival marked its 60th anniversary. With B|G|O’s support, the Haitian Consulate in the United Kingdom brought the country’s artists and traditions to one of Europe’s largest street festivals, giving Haiti a place among the nations that define the event.

For six decades, the Carnival has been one of the most visible annual expressions of Caribbean heritage outside the region, filling west London each August with the music, costume and food of the islands. For Haiti, a presence of that scale carries weight beyond the weekend itself, putting its culture before audiences who may rarely encounter it directly.

The Carnival also provided the Consulate with a platform to advance its mandate: promoting Haiti abroad and strengthening ties with Haitians living in the United Kingdom, at a festival shaped by Caribbean communities themselves.

Following a warm-up celebration on Saturday, Naïka, Paul Beaubrun and Kolo performed at Powis Square on Sunday and Monday.

Earlier this year, B|G|O signed a two-year agreement with the Fédération Haïtienne de Football with the same intent. The company proudly stands behind Haitian institutions, whether they represent the country on a soccer field or bring its culture to the streets of London.

For B|G|O, this partnership belongs to the same long-term view that has guided more than 130 years of investment in Haiti. The company will continue to support the cultural and sporting institutions that carry the country’s name within and beyond its borders, while building the industries that sustain opportunity at home.
